Sambhar for Rice

  • toor dhall0.5 cup
  • vegetables
  • drumstick1
  • tamarind
  • tomatoes2
  • turmeric powder0.25 tsp
  • sambhar powder1
  • asofoetida
  • coriander leaves

Method

    Cook dhall, 1 ยฝ cup water, tomatoes, asofoetida and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Smash with a spoon,

    Soak the tamarind in water.

    In a separate vessel, cook vegetables, sambhar powder, turmeric powder with sufficient amount of water. Once the vegetables is cooked, add the cooked dhall and tamarind water. Add the required amount of water.

    Add required amount of salt and allow it to boil. Add coriander leaves

    Add oil in a pan, then add mustard seeds, small onion and curry leaves and season it.
